Do you want to be a superhero??
Learn aerial acrobatics, flexibility, strength training, dance, act and character development, choreography, stage make up, and costume design in a new summer circus program for 12 – 18 year old students. Students will have the opportunity to present their new skills for family and friends in a student showcase at the end of the summer. The program is directed by Cirque du Soleil and Marvel Universe Live database member Charlie Faraday.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
June 6 – August 14
We ask that either a parent or guardian attend the first 30 minutes of rehearsal on June 6th for a parent meeting so they can meet the instructor, we can meet you, and general info and any questions can be answered!
Summer troop is a non-auditioned group and is open to any interested student who wants to join the circus! In order to provide the highest quality instruction to our students, enrollment is limited to 8 per session. Currently one session is open to enrollment, however we will add a second session from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm if the first session reaches capacity.
In addition to their regular circus classes, students are strongly encouraged to enroll in at least one dance class per week. We strongly recommend Des Moines Danzarts Studio: our program was designed such that schedules between our two programs coordinate so students have the widest option of dance classes and times to choose from. In addition, additional circus-style strength and flexibility training is offered at Danzarts.
All rehearsals will be held at Darker Marker Productions, located at 333 East Grand Ave. Unit 110 Des Moines, IA 50309 (directly across the street from Zombie Burger).
